September 26, 2024 - Journey Capital Real Estate Partners, a national real estate investment firm, acquired Maitland Pointe (formerly known as IMT Maitland Pointe), a 2017 vintage, 392-unit multifamily property located within the city of Altamonte Springs, Florida in Seminole County, which is part of the greater Orlando MSA. Peter Calatozzo, Managing Partner and Josh Kogel, Managing Director announced the acquisition. The purchase of Maitland Pointe represents Journey Capital’s sixth multifamily acquisition in Central Florida and third acquisition in Seminole County.
“We are excited to add Maitland Pointe to our Central Florida portfolio of over 2000 units. We have a high level of conviction in the Orlando MSA, as both employment and population growth remain strong and are projected to continue for some time, while we see new multifamily supply rapidly decline,” said Peter Calatozzo. “The acquisition of Maitland Pointe continues our strategy of acquiring properties in desirable neighborhoods located in submarkets with access to high-quality employment and high barriers to entry.”
“Maitland Pointe features several of the key attributes that fit our target investment profile, which includes providing residents with convenient access to Orlando’s most prominent employment centers,” said Josh Kogel. “The property is next to Advent Health System’s Headquarters and over 2,500 employees, and a short drive to the Maitland Center Office Park, which is comprised of over 8 million square feet of office space, 500 companies and 20,000 employees. Maitland Pointe is also adjacent to a Publix anchored shopping center, providing walkable retail to our residents.”
The property consists of a mix of three-story and four-story elevatored buildings, as well as townhomes, along with a 14,000 square-foot two-story resident clubhouse. The community provides residents with modern unit interiors and an expansive amenity set. Apartment interiors feature luxury vinyl plank flooring, spacious walk-in closets, fully equipped gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, private patio or balcony, and full-size washer/dryers. The community amenities include two resort-style pools, outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, 24-hour package lockers, outdoor lounge area with fire pit, clubhouse game room and full-service kitchen, business center with private conference room, and fitness center.
